Being “authentic” and real is a challenge to many Christians
as they post content on social media platforms. The ability
to be your authentic self and a member of the Body of
Christ should not be a contradiction of personality and
walking with Christ.
Sharing  what and who we are can be represented by
using Emoji’s, graphics, animated images, and even videos.
Sharing our lives online can be fun and enjoyable, but as
members of the Body of Christ we should be careful about
the perceptions people have about our behaviors and being
a Christian.

This digital content may hide who people really are and creates
unauthorized views. Being real means not trying to pretend to
be something different than God created us to be. Being a
Christian should not be covered by digital enhancements
because God sees our hearts. We cannot hide from God even
online. He knows our thoughts our feelings and our desires.
Being “authentic” and Christian should show Christs love for all,
it is genuine, deliberate and shares the love of Christ.

Christians should know who they are, and be honest with
themselves even if they struggle with challenges.
We cannot “play” with God in our minds nor play a role that is
not us. Roles cannot be maintained, wearing a mask of
impersonation that is a lie to a Christian walk.
In online environments to many pretend, they are playing
a role they must try to sustain. There online activities creates
a false view and perceptions of who Christians are not.
Being a Christian must stay in the light at all times, There is
an intimate relationship with Christ that should not be a lie
nor should it be played like a toy. Christians should have the
courage, humility, understanding and decency to be true.

The digital content created by Christians is a permanent
mark or a permanent digital footprint that is either following
Christ or being lead in an opposite direction to a path of
rebellion and false learning. Christians should be cautious of
self-promotion, false witnessing and egotistical words.
Christians, as a member of the Body of Christ should know
what direction they are going and who they are following.
Consider your walk with Christ online and offline.
Peter denied Christ 3 times while standing around the fire,
will you deny Christ as you share content on Facebook,
Twitter, LinkedIn and other digital platforms?

Think about what and who you represent with your social
media content and how it makes Christ look when His followers
act like the world instead of being obedient to the spirit.
