Being “authentic” and real is a challenge to many Christians
as they post content on social media platforms. The ability
to be your authentic self and a member of the Body of
Christ should not be a contradiction of personality and
walking with Christ.
Sharing  what and who we are can be represented by
using Emoji’s, graphics, animated images, and even videos.
Sharing our lives online can be fun and enjoyable, but as
members of the Body of Christ we should be careful about
the perceptions people have about our behaviors and being
a Christian.

This digital content may hide who people really are and creates
unauthorized views. Being real means not trying to pretend to
be something different than God created us to be. Being a
Christian should not be covered by digital enhancements
because God sees our hearts. We cannot hide from God even
online. He knows our thoughts our feelings and our desires.
Being “authentic” and Christian should show Christs love for all,
it is genuine, deliberate and shares the love of Christ.

Christians should know who they are, and be honest with
themselves even if they struggle with challenges.
We cannot “play” with God in our minds nor play a role that is
not us. Roles cannot be maintained, wearing a mask of
impersonation that is a lie to a Christian walk.
In online environments to many pretend, they are playing
a role they must try to sustain. There online activities creates
a false view and perceptions of who Christians are not.
Being a Christian must stay in the light at all times, There is
an intimate relationship with Christ that should not be a lie
nor should it be played like a toy. Christians should have the
courage, humility, understanding and decency to be true.

The digital content created by Christians is a permanent
mark or a permanent digital footprint that is either following
Christ or being lead in an opposite direction to a path of
rebellion and false learning. Christians should be cautious of
self-promotion, false witnessing and egotistical words.
Christians, as a member of the Body of Christ should know
what direction they are going and who they are following.
Consider your walk with Christ online and offline.
Peter denied Christ 3 times while standing around the fire,
will you deny Christ as you share content on Facebook,
Twitter, LinkedIn and other digital platforms?

Think about what and who you represent with your social
media content and how it makes Christ look when His followers
act like the world instead of being obedient to the spirit.

Back to School – Preventing Bullying

I have been speaking and presenting on the prevention of Bullying,
Cyberbullying, Sexting and the inappropriate use of texting for
several years.

Through the use of incorporating traditional blogging, video blogging,
Social Media platforms, and other platforms and tools I try to share
the reasons and realistic concerns why children, youth, teens and young
adults bully.

Each incident no matter how small creates an atmosphere of fear and
uncertainty in a young persons perception(s) of safety and even belonging.
Bullying is not a rite of passage to manhood or womanhood, it does not
build character or bonding.

Bullying is hurtful, mean, sad and creates long-term psychological
damage.  Emotional trauma and even the inability to trust and love
has resulted in some cases.

Below is a video that was created and produced by myself to show
that bullying should not be tolerated, but it should be treated with
compassion and care.

Links to my bullying blogs over the years are provided.
Feel free to use the resources to empower children, teens and young
adults and even to educate parents. Parents are usually the last to
know that their child is the bully or that their child is being bullied.

Education is important and observation. Parents unfortunately do
not know their children as well as they think they do so the
accumulation and engagement in relationships is important to
establish and maintain between child and parent.
