Inviting Jacksonville Kids
KIDSCAMP ORLANDO
A GREAT PLACE TO BUILD AND EXPLORE
by William Jackson, Organizer KidsCamp Orlando

This years KIDSCAMP will be held on Saturday,
November 10th from 10am to 3pm. It is guaranteed
to be a day of building and exploration. Your
Commanders for learning will be William Jackson
(My Quest To Teach) and Aida Correa (LoveBuiltLife)
guiding the space cadets on a journey they
will not soon forget.
The cadets will have plenty of swag to take with
them to explore the galaxy of web development
at KIDSCAMP.
WordCamp parents can help usher in the next
generation of WordPress explorers at the fourth
annual KidsCamp! Parents attending WordCamp
can bring their explorers and enjoy a day of
parent-child discovery, exploration and learning.
The WordPress Commanders William Jackson
and Aida Correa are ready to take the youth,
teen, young adults and those that are young at
heart on a journey through the galaxy of KIDSCAMP.

These special kid-friendly lessons will introduce your
child to the wonderful world of WordPress and help
them learn or improve upon WordPress development,
design, and useful skills! After the day is complete,
your child will leave with their very own
WordPress.com site up and running!

Interested WordPress parents or guardians will need
to have a ticket for Saturday attendance purchased
before signing up their explorers. Parents will be
responsible for staying with their child
during KidsCamp, they may switch guardians during
the course of the day if two are both attending.

Each child will need his or her own laptop or tablet to
work on and know their usernames and passwords
to access their emails. It helps astronomically to have
it written down or saved in your digital
devices if needed.

Each KidsCamp ticket provides your explorer with
lunch, an afternoon snack, and full access to the
day’s lessons. We are accepting explorers
from ages 7 to 14 to participate
in these special lessons and register early because
spots are limited to only 20 children (not including
their parents/guardians).

Ready to start your child out on their own WordPress
journey?
KidsCamp tickets are on sale now
https://2018.orlando.wordcamp.org/session/kidscamp/
Also, if you have an older explorer ready to launch
into some advanced topics, they are welcome to join
us for the full sessions and workshops with a regular
WordCamp ticket!

WordCamp Orlando is November 9 – 11, 2018!
Looking forward to working with future explorers..

Being involved in volunteering with a
Kids Camp is a fun and exciting venture.
Giving back as a business owner, educator,
parent and community activists builds
future leaders, innovators, smart creatives,
digital intellectuals and even educators
in youth, teens and young adults.

As business owners ourselves, Aida and I
were invited to WordCamp San Juan to speak
and volunteer at this great conference,
in Costa Rica, it turned into an epic
adventure and journey. The beauty of the
time was equally stunning as the land
blossomed with green and vibrant colors
of plants and foliage only found
in Costa Rica.

Kids Camp provides unique opportunities for
children from 7 yrs to teens to be involved in
developing web sites through the WordPress
platform. The kids attending will be building
their own blogs and learning how to post content
with the WordPress platform. Parents are required
to work with their child as they develop content
on the web in real-time. This adds another dynamic
element to being a smart creative.

Kids Camp has been active in WordCamp Miami,
WordCamp Jacksonville and others across the
country and even the world.
Children will be taught how to add their stories
photos, video clips and more to their developing
content. The fun of building a web site raises
opportunities for kids to be entrepreneurs, tech
business owners and even developers.

Kids Camp San Jose in Costa Rica provides a fun
and enriching environment applying storytelling
and visual story-boarding. The building to this
project allows the kids to get into teams,
discuss their ideas, how to apply Apps and coding.

The Kids Camp activities are designed to be fun,
educational and building future business owners.
Available are certified teachers, web developers,
WordCamp speakers, volunteers and advocates like
Aida Correa and I, we are from Jacksonville,
Florida and traveled to this
great event as speakers.

The attending kids will earn their very own name
tag, SWAG ranging from stickers, posters, t shirts,
lunch will be provided and photos to be posted on
Social Media sites. Building their digital presence
and encouraging collaboration and cooperation with
the kids attending.

These awesome kid-friendly lessons will introduce
a wonderful world of WordPress and encourage
continued learning and design. Parents are encouraged
to stay involved in WordCamp conferences to build the
future business leaders that are the visionaries of
the future for Costa Rica and South America.
The sponsor was SiteGround that provided temporary
hosting for the students to participate.

William Jackson of My Quest To Teach #MyQuestToTeach
Aida Correa  of LoveBuilt LIfe #LoveBuiltLife
provided SWAG from  their respective companies
to encourage and motivate the young people involved.
