Jacksonville Students, Educators, Minister and Business Owners Attend FlBlogCon
by William Jackson, My Quest To Teach #MyQuestToTeach

“If you’re an extrovert or an introvert you should
be attending a tech conference. If you’re an entrepreneur,
a business owner or even an author, it will benefit
you and your business in ways unimaginable. If you’re
a Blogger (writer), Podcaster (online programming),
Vblogger (video) or a Microblogger (Twitter)
find a way to attend a tech conference. If you’re a
college student, especially if you’re an HBCU student
attend conferences to build your Brand and network.

High school students get your parents to send or take
you to tech conferences, they will change your thinking
about careers and your options for life.
Congratulations to Edward Waters College student Mr.
Dennis Jackson, Northbound Church of Christ
Minister Elisha Taylor, Jr. and son Elisha Taylor III
Duval County Public Schools high school student.
Aida Correa of LoveBuiltLife, Sandra Johnson
of The Madisel Group with Jayla Tapley and
Ahubri Dudley Duval County Public Schools.

Invited to attend their first Florida Blogging and
Technology Conference, a nationally and
internationally recognized conference in Orlando.
Attending tech conferences like FLBLOGCON
encourages students to enhance their knowledge
and skills when preparing for future careers.

Attending FlBlogCon on the campus of
Full Sail University, the premiere technology
school that has achieved international recognition
https://hello.fullsail.edu/request_info
FLBlogCon https://floridablogcon.com the dream
of Bess Auer https://www.bessauer.com/ started
as a conference focusing on blogging, now
one of the most attended conferences nationally
and internationally in 8 years.

The digital empowerment can be seen by those
attending to be successful as bloggers, graphic
designers, coders and digital business owners.
Even in ministry, Minster Elisha Taylor Jr. of
Northbound Church of Christ integrates diverse
technology skills to share the gospel to a growing
number of people that are mobile, but still
enjoy hearing how to be saved and how to live
a Christian life in the Church of Christ.

The theme “Year of the Creator,” which
addresses growing digital innovation and
creativity. This is fitting because youth, teens
and young adults are creating online
businesses, creating graphic works of art and
producers of content and
development of Apps. In order to start careers
youth, teens and young adults need to become
producers not just consumers of technology.

The infusion of technology globally is demanding
more proficiency and knowledge because careers
are being sent overseas and America by
itself cannot keep up with the need for digital
creatives and digital innovators.
Competition is fierce….

Developing your Brand is valuable, “branding is
what people say about you, when you walk out
the room, (logoff the) forum, logoff Twitter,
read your blogs, or view videos you posted on
the Internet, ” Josh Elledge

Dennis Jackson a student attending Edward
Waters College is expanding his network of
resources to grow his business “Primal Instinct”
a clothing line that will be launching soon.
William Jackson a past professor with EWC and
Digital Innovator managing his company
My Quest To Teach, has taken students in
the past to various conferences using his
personal finances, but always working
to find sponsors.

Sharing the empowerment and benefits of
Social Media, STEAM and how careers are
influenced by tech skills. Personally sponsoring
tech conferences in Africa he sees the need to
embrace diversity not just locally in
Jacksonville, Florida, but globally.

Aida Correa of LoveBuiltLife embraces multiple
areas of the Arts and Design. Her passion for
STEAM allows her to connect youth to adults
in project based workshops where creating is
fun, learning is loud and creative passions are
exploding in the minds and hearts of all as they
work on projects they can take with them.

Students from EWC and DCPS have attended
WordCamp, Bar Camp, FlBlogCon and other
conferences  with Mr. Jackson in the past,
he and Ms. Correa have spoken in Calgary Canada,
Costa Rica, Washington, DC and Miami, Florida.
Mr. Jackson is an advocate for Social Media
integration in business and education. A community
activist with New Town Success Zone / Vision Keepers
working to empower the community.

He understands that minority students of all levels,
in order to compete must have knowledge beyond
classroom experiences, they need exposure to
networking and mentors. They must be producers
of technology innovation not consumers to make
changes in their communities.

Thanks to Bess Auer providing another opportunity
for students from Edward Waters College and Duval
County Public Schools to attend, be involved in
workshops and encouraging all students to learn
and apply their learning as business owners and
entrepreneurs.

Jayla, Ahubri and Elisha will be starting on their
business journeys as well in Jacksonville. Elisha
has a dream of attending MIT after graduating
from Paxon High School for Advanced Studies.
