The Lady Hat Tea of West Friendship Baptist Church
was an opportunity for the women of the church to share
unity, sisterhood, spirituality and love.
The event was attended by over 40 women of West
Friendship Baptist Church and St. Thomas Missionary
Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida.
The guest speaker was Mrs. Bettye Douglas, of
St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church. She spoke
of unity in the spirit of the church and unification of
a mind set to serve God. “A house divided will fall,
but a house united will grow” was the theme of her
The joyous event included a prayer Blessing by
Pastor Timothy Cole, Sr., lunch served by the Men’s
Ushers. The occasion’s message was provided by
Mrs. Cheryl Jackson, music was provided by
Author Jones, followed by a spiritual praise dance
by Brianna Criswell, solo by Kristina Wells and Sandra
The “Parade of Hats” was an opportunity for the women
to show not only their hats, but their grace as “virtuous
women of God” that Cheryl Jackson highlighted during
her opening occasion speech.
First Lady Dawn Cole invites other women to attend
next years event to make it bigger and better as an
annual event to celebrate sisterhood, virtuous women,
love and unity throughout Jacksonville, Florida.
